Club volleyball has started!

My daughter Hannah plays on a club volleyball team called NORCO. She has had two tournaments so far and they are doing well. They are ranked 21 out of 70 teams. They play teams all along the front range of Colorado. They are now currently in the third division, but we hope they will move up to the second after this weekend. ( There are 9 divisions.) Hannah is the setter on the team. She loves it so much, and has a lot of fun. The tournaments are an all day event that Derek the kids and I enjoy. This weekend she will be in Lakewood(Denver). Wish her luck. Here are some photos from the last two tournaments.

First day of Kindergarten

I forgot to put Sydney's 1st day of school pictures on the blog. She was so happy and she loves school and her teacher Mrs. Horner. Samantha and Sydney are going to Stansberry, new for Samantha. Samantha is doing so well, her first report card was all A's and two B's. The best ever. She is being put in a harder math class to challenge her. I'm so proud of them both.

Hannah's volleyball

Its not very often I get to brag about my children like this. Recently Hannah's middle school Volleyball team won the Championship. Last year they took second. It was a huge deal this year. They had an assembly and hung the banner up in the gym. At the banquet Hannah received the award for MVP. (And got a trophy.) She was so happy. We are so proud of her. She has worked so hard. Hannah is now starting practice for club ball. She is playing for NORCO. Tournaments start in January.

As many of you know, we got a little weenier dog. She's a dachshund. Yes, we named her after the volleyball player. She is really cute and still causing puppy problems.

Samantha's Big Day, Her Baptism!

Samantha recently had her 8th Birthday. It was a big day. As many of you know, when children turn 8 in our church they get Baptized. She planned out every detail herself. Hannah and Grandma gave a talk, and Hannah played us some music on her flute. My mom, Oma gave the closing prayer. It was a beautiful event. Here are some of the pictures of the big day. Thank you to all who attended.

BEN'S STITCHES

Ben, our littlest one recently went to the doctor twice. The first for stitches in his eyelid and second for a well check. At his well check I was told that he scored very high on his fine and large motor skills, but not so well on speech. We were told not to speak for him and try to get him to say what he needs. He laughs at us when we tried that. So I came home and wondered why he put his head into the couch and got 3 stitches, if his motor skill are so excellent. He's a toddler, toddlers fall. So here is a photo or two of Ben's fabulous footwork damage. Enjoy!
